Our Commitment to Privacy
 

Welcome to ShooApp! Your privacy is our top priority. This policy outlines how we handle your information. Our core privacy feature is End-to-End Encryption, which ensures that only you and the person you're communicating with can read what's sent. We cannot read your messages, and no one else can either.

 

Information We Collect
 

To provide our service, we collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you create a ShooApp account, you provide us with your name, a unique username, and your email address for authentication. You also provide us with your date of birth and your custom avatar configuration.

User Content (Encrypted): Your messages, photos, and voice notes are protected by end-to-end encryption. This means we cannot see, access, or share the content of your communications. We only store the encrypted data on our servers to securely deliver it to the recipient.

Connections: We store your list of friends to make it easy for you to connect and chat. This includes information about who you are friends with and when that friendship began. We also process information about friend requests and blocked users to enforce your preferences.

Device Information: We collect your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you notifications for new messages and other app-related events.

 

How We Use Information
 

We use the information we collect solely to operate, improve, and secure our services.

To Provide Service: We use your account information to create your profile and your connections list to enable social features.

To Deliver Messages: We use metadata (like timestamps and sender/receiver IDs) to route your encrypted messages and provide features like 'last active' status and read receipts.

To Ensure Security: We use account and device information to offer security features like Session Management and Remote Logout.

We do not use the content of your encrypted messages for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

 

Your Choices & Control
 

You have full control over your information and privacy within ShooChat.

Disappearing Messages: You can set messages in any chat to automatically delete after a set period (e.g., after viewing, 24 hours, etc.). This provides an extra layer of privacy for your conversations.

Screenshot & Recording Protection: You can enable "Protect Chat" for any conversation, which uses the operating system's FLAG_SECURE feature to block screenshots and screen recordings for both participants.

Blocking Users: You can block users at any time. A blocked user will not be able to find your profile in search or send you messages.

Deleting Your Account: You can delete your account at any time from the settings menu. This is a permanent action that will remove your profile, avatar, friends list, and other personal data from our servers.
